"Stefan, our mentor, was great very patient and explained the techniques very clearly. We prepared and cooked a variety of delicious dim sum. I now have the confidence to attempt them myself"
Simon

Ever wondered how the delicious dumplings you find in Chinatown look and taste so good? Find out all the secrets with our dim sum class just in time for Chinese New Year. Dating back over more than 1,800 years, dumplings are a classic lucky food for new year.

You’ll learn to how make Chinese classics, such as steamed buns, dumplings which are made to look like Chinese silver ingots (these are boat-shaped, oval, and turned up at the two ends). Tradition states that the dumplings you eat during the New Year celebrations, the more money you can make in the New Year! You will also make jiaozi and prawn wonton soup, and pick up tips and tricks along the way to make sure you can re-create these at home.

After a traditional Chinese breakfast, you will learn a range of new skills, from making authentic fillings through to rolling, folding, steaming and frying your way to a delicious Asian feast. Over the five hours, you will also become familiar with a plethora of Chinese ingredients that will enhance your knowledge of food as a whole.

Having mastered these techniques, you will be able to extend your repertoire to other shapes and flavours at home. At the end of the dim sum class, you will enjoy the fabulous feast you created, accompanied by Chinese tea.
